Creating a game is now easier than ever, and here are the basics to get you started. You can either watch the video below or scroll past it and follow our step-by-step instructions.
Step-by-step instructions for creating a normal game
Start off by clicking the 'Play Golf' button and select 'Start a round'.
Course Setup
- The default course is automatically selected as the one closest to your location. If this isn't the correct course, you have the option to search for listed courses in front of you, arranged from nearest to farthest, based on your current location.
- The next step is to choose the number of holes you want to play, which can be full 18, back nine, or front nine.
Game Setup
- Name your game; otherwise, the name will be 'Game - date'.
- If you are setting up a game in advance, the date of the game can be changed from the top right corner.
- Stroke play is the default primary game mode.
- You are able to change the primary game mode and set up a side game from all the available game formats in our app.*
- Spice up the rounds by setting up contests, for example closest to the pin.*
- You are able to set up a private and simulator rounds from the advanced settings.*
Players Setup
- Tees, starting hole, and group size can be adjusted (with a maximum of 4 players in one group) in settings that are located at the top of the players page.
- Other players can be added by clicking 'add player,' which opens a friend list for adding players.*
- If you are not Golf GameBook friends yet, you are able to find others using the search option.
- If your playing partner doesn't have Golf GameBook yet, choose 'Add unregistered player'.
- Additional groups can be created by selecting 'Add group'.
- Once the groups are set, you can move or edit players by clicking on them.
- The 'Edit player' option allows you to change the handicap or the tee.
Start Round
- When everything is set, just click 'Start Game,' and you're good to go.
